The Condé Nast Traveler's
discerning readers have named the Bushman’s Kloof Wilderness Reserve &
Retreat in its Best Resort in Africa category.
The Condé Nast Traveler
Readers’ Choice Survey, the largest independent poll of consumers’
preferences with over 32,000 readers voted this year for its 21st Annual
Readers‘ Choice Awards.
Less than one hour from Cape Town by private charter plane, or three hours
by car, Bushman’s Kloof is a five star ecological oasis, a sanctuary to many
endangered species of flora and fauna. It is also home to over 130 San
bushmen rock art sites and is recognized as one of South Africa’s Natural
Heritage sites.
Accommodating a maximum of 32 guests, all suites and guests rooms are
elegantly appointed and furnished to create a feeling of restfulness and
calm.
Bushman’s Kloof, member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux, is part of the
Red Carnation Hotels collection, which includes properties in London,
Dorset, Guernsey, Geneva and Palm Beach.
Its sister property, The
Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa, located just minutes from Cape Town, was
ranked Number Two in the Best Hotels in Africa category in the same poll,
while The Milestone Hotel, a five-star luxury boutique hotel in London, also
in the RCH collection, was voted Best Hotel In The British Isles.
“These awards celebrate the destinations, lodgings, and modes of
transportation that manage to exceed our expectations,” said Condé Nast
Traveler Editor in Chief Klara Glowczewska. “The Readers’ Choice Awards,
with over 32,000 readers voting, are a credit to the worldly expertise of
our readers—passionate travelers for whom no island is too remote, no city
too challenging, and no hotel too untested.”
The complete results of the awards can be found in the November issue of
Condé Nast Traveler, on newsstands October 21st or on the magazine’s website
at cntraveler.com.
